My name is Jerry McCall. I am an 80-year-old disabled Airforce Veteran. I live alone, am not married, and until recently have been able to work. Surgery and medical issues have left me very vulnerable and at 80, am fearing I may end up homeless without your help. What led me to start this fundraiser? Loss of mobility and income due to disabilities including major hip surgery, debilitating spinal stenosis, chronic knee pain and degenerative, wear-and-tear type arthritis. I am humbly calling on you to partner with me! I am a good person, always help others, and have worked hard my whole life. WHY WOULD I LIKE THESE DONATIONS? WHY THE SENSE OF URGENCY? The sudden loss of mobility and income had cascading ripple effects like endangering my ability to buy food and pay rent. I'm too old to be homeless and hope you are called to help. My disabilities will need ongoing medical intervention. The doctors say it normally takes 6-12 months to recover from total hip replacement and go back to work without fear or reinjuring myself. I need help while recovering. WHAT WILL I USE THESE FUNDS FOR? Funds will be used for daily living expenses and medical rehabilitation. My total monthly expenses are $2,000 including food, rent, utilities, transportation, insurance, internet/phone and minimal incidental living expenses. My Go fund me target is $6,000 to start in order to cover three months of expenses while I rehab from surgery. ==Contributions in any amounts are deeply appreciated!== ==ABOUT MY PERSONAL CHARCTER== In the interest of forming a better connection, I would like to share my story based on MY PERSONAL CHARACTER, which I believe you may identify within your life and others. I have good sense of humor and love telling jokes. I get pleasure out of the simple things and live within my means. I love to make people smile and help them where I can. I believe in God and The American Dream. Am hardworking, honest, trustworthy, and practical. Teddy Roosevelt said it best, “Good character consists of honesty , courtesy, kindness, and diligence.” I have a strong work ethic which I learned from being raised on a small farm in Kansas. I went to an old style one room schoolhouse with one teacher for all 8 grades. I plowed fields and milked cows before and after school. My strong work ethic is one of my greater strengths and currently loosing my ability to work is catastrophic! Today , I am humbly calling on you to help to raise donations to support basic rehabilitation and living expenses. With your collective donations you will help shift me from pain management and a fearful mindset to a more pain free and positive one.
