In life so many of us are very successful in our careers and In family, but unfortunately there are many more people in this world who don’t have that same success and are struggling without even the basics of a safe place to come home to, or knowing where their next meal might come from. Recently I was introduced to the story of James and his dog Poppie here in Celebration, FL where we live, who are unfortunately struggling with homelessness.This story i’m sharing here is not just about a homeless man and his dog who need help, but about the recklessness that one individual caused this past week when James and Poppie were the victims of a hit and run accident causing them both significant but non-life threatening injuries. The town of Celebration has come together to help with the replacement of James’s mobility scooter as he is also disabled, as well as covering medical bills for them both, but now that they are on the mend, they have no safe place to stay to recover. Several of us here in Celebration have decided to work together to help them, and to start this fund to raise money to provide them both with a temporary place to stay, as well as getting food and basic necessities to them while recovering. Thank you all for taking the time to read this story, and for any help you may be able to contribute while we continue to support and take care of someone who is less fortunate in our community, that was cast aside in such a brutal manner when the individuals responsible for this hit and run didn’t even bother to stop to offer help, but instead left them laying in the road bruised and battered. It’s sad that people in this world believe it is ok to treat others this way.
