Purpose: To give back to the one who has poured into the lives of many in the physical therapy community, sports performance community, academic community, and inclusive circles that are trying to make a difference in this world. This LFEBridge page was created to help support the medical expenses for Dorian Kahlil, son of Dustin and Katrina Willis, in addition to Shane’s Inspiration, a non-profit organization that builds playgrounds for kids with disabilities. We are honored to continue to support and be inspired by Dorian, who is beating the odds every single day! 50% of the proceeds will go to our little warrior, while the other 50% will go to Shane’s for the incredible work and sense of community they have created! Throughout our lives, we all have come across people who have had profound impacts in shaping who we are. This may not be exclusive to just one person, but to that one person, so much of us is because of them. Paying homage to these special individuals is manifested in how we teach, how we care, and how we express love to others not only within our family, but also within our communities. I’m only me because of you is a campaign to highlight and uplift a valued member of our community Dr. Dustin Willis and his family, as the story he carries deep within influences how he pours into all he is surrounded by. A true conduit, the heart of a servant, a giver with no expectation to receive anything in return, his heart posture is significantly influenced by the love he and his wife have for his son, Dorian. Dorian Kahlil is an incredible little wonder, whose life story has inspired many simply because of who he is. His resiliency and ability to bounce back from the adversity he has experienced is truly motivational, because no matter what has surfaced, the perseverance to continue to move forward is the only life he knows. Despite these challenges, one would never know about all the struggles he has endured because of his happy demeanor. As parents and caregivers, this journey that they get to live has taught invaluable life lessons of hope, inclusivity, relentlessness, and to always appreciate the small things. Their shared experiences have opened up the gateways to understanding patience, compassion, unconditional love, and gratitude through him.
