Allison DeRome and Jake Hirdler suffered a house fire July 4th, 2024. They had only been living in their home, which they built, for less than 2 years. They received the call from a neighbor that their house was on fire that evening. Allison had just started her night shift as a CVS ICU nurse and Jake was giving a friend a ride into town. Thankfully no one was injured in the fire. Allison in addition to being an RN at the Mayo Clinic, is a talented photographer part time. Most of her photography equipment was destroyed and her business put on hold. Jake also works for Mayo Clinic in the lab. They have been dating for over 7 years and are a couple to admire. They are hard working, friends to everyone they meet, and the kind of people who would drop anything to help you out. Jake and Allison put in countless hours of work on their new home building a new deck, installing landscaping, and furnishing their home. They both are originally from the Wisconsin area and were finally making Minnesota their home. They also jointly own a German short haired pointer named Vena whose things were also destroyed in the fire. We are raising funds to help them cover damages and possessions lost in this tragic fire. If you are able, please consider donating to help them during this difficult time. Money, prayers, a meal, a kind word, anything is helpful during this trying and isolating time. Also please pass this along to other people in the Rochester/Kasson community. Thank you! Tanya Young is also the local rep for the Dodge County Salvation Army and is assisting Jake and Allison with clothing and cash donations. Please call or text her if you would like to donate before dropping off at the Ziebell Law Office in Kasson. Thanks! (316-390-5368)
