Dear Holliston and Framingham Friends, Parishioners, Classmates, Family, and Compassionate Strangers, I am writing to share the heart-wrenching story of a brave and resilient single mother, Michelle, who has recently faced an unimaginable disaster – her apartment was flooded due to the recent torrential rains and flooding. In this trying time, she desperately needs our support to get back on her feet and rebuild her life for her and her 11-year-old son before school starts. As a single mom and lifelong Holliston resident, Michelle has always been a pillar of strength for her son, tirelessly working as a teacher's aide in Framingham to provide a safe and comfortable home. However, the recent flooding has shattered her world and left her and her family in crisis. The rising waters and subsequent mold and mildew destroyed their belongings, furniture, and cherished memories, leaving them in a precarious state. Her insurance company is rejecting her claim due to a technicality and her landlord has issued a 30-day notice to quit the apartment, forcing her to find a new place to live and potentially leaving her homeless in a tight housing market. The stress and impact are tremendous and are affecting overall health and well-being, especially on the verge of a new school year for her young son. Michelle's courage and determination have been an inspiration to all who know her. Despite facing this devastating setback, she remains steadfast in her determination to rebuild her life in Holliston for the sake of her children, family, social connections and the many feathered friends she cares for. However, the financial burden of recovery is proving to be overwhelming, and she cannot do it alone. Our goal is to raise funds to help Michelle to cover the costs of to dealing with emergency costs, replacing essential items, and providing her family with the stability and security they need during this tumultuous time. The funds raised will be used to: Replace essential household items, including furniture, small kitchen appliances, and clothing. Pay for moving, cleaning and storage costs of what items and mementos can be salvaged. Cover temporary accommodation costs until she can find new housing or her damaged apartment is repaired. Assist with any unforeseen expenses that may arise during the recovery process. We firmly believe that, as a community, we can come together to make a significant impact on Michelle's life and provide her with the support she desperately needs. Any contribution, big or small, will be deeply appreciated and will go a long way in helping Michelle and her boyfriend and family regain their footing. Together, we can turn Michelle's despair into hope, her sorrow into joy, and her struggle into triumph. Your kindness and generosity will not only help rebuild a home but also restore faith in humanity for a mom who has experienced such a profound loss. Please donate and share this campaign widely with your networks, friends, and family. Let's be the beacon of hope for Michelle and show her that she is not alone in this challenging journey. Thank you for taking the time to read Michelle's story and for your support. Your donation will make a tangible difference in the lives of Michelle and her family who are fighting to overcome the aftermath of this devastating flood. With heartfelt gratitude, The Holliston community
