During the quick yet severe storm on the afternoon of July 7, 2024 lightning struck the barn and destroyed a huge piece of this families livelihood. The barn Dave Howerter once built is now in ruins, after dozens of firefighters spent countless hours battling to put out the flames. This barn is where the cattle called home, hay and straw were kept and will completely need to be rebuilt.Many people in Montgomery and Berks county know Dave and have relied on him for a long time for any of their farm/animals needs. So many people have reached out asking if there’s anything they can do to help. Dave is the type of guy to give the shirt off of his back and do anything he can to help anyone. It’s now our turn to return the favor and help them as much as we possibly can to get this barn rebuilt, and his business back up and running. If you could even spare a couple dollars to help, I know that Dave and the rest of the family will absolutely appreciate it and continue to pay it forward.
