Sunday evening while driving home from dinner Brandon & I were involved in a motorcycle accident. Details are still unclear at this point. I was able to come out with just some serious road rash, but Brandon shielded me. This has left him with some pretty nasty injuries. He has 3 broken ribs, each broken in 2 places, which may need surgery, a broken scapula, and a collapse lung. His road to recovery will be long and hard so let's see if we can't help ease the burden and take away some financial worry while he fights to get back to healthy. UPDATE 07/25: Brandon will be having surgery to repair the damages done to his ribs. He will under go surgery tomorrow morning. UPDATE 07/27: Brandon's surgery went really well and has given him some much needed relief from the rib fractures. We did learn yesterday that he also has a fracture on the left side of his pelvic bone in addition to his other injuries. I had a follow up appointment with the burn team yesterday. My road rash is a 3rd degree friction burn and covers my right arm, right breast, and right big toe. The team is impressed with how well it is healing so far.
