Dear Friends and Family, I am Yagana Hafed, a Tbird '19, and ASU PhD Candidate. I am requesting your assistance with the remaining 16 family members. Some of you are aware and have helped before with NOW THREE families arriving to the US on Humanitarian Parole in 2024. Total of 20 people have arrived, and you have helped change 20 lives. You made this insane trip/story a possibility, I thank you! Brother and Aunt now have their own apartments in Alexandria and with donations their apartments have been fully furnished. I have been paying their rent, until they are able to have jobs and pay for their own expenses. It takes 3-4 months before their SSI and EAD are here so they can work, while uncle still lives with my mom in VA. I will save you the stories of heartbreak, betrayal, and failures in the story of my brother's arrival (whose passports were stollen with the US visas on them the day of his original trip on June 23rd, 2024), but in GOD's grace and so many people's help and guidance we were still able to make this happen. We have received approval for 3 additional families consisting of 8 + 3 + 5 members (two of my mother's sisters and brother). All of these families have worked with NATO, the U.S. and allies, and the previous Afghan government such as the Ministry of Women's Affairs, the Department of Women's Rights in Kandahar, Afghanistan (which was a Taliban-born city, and the Ministry has forcibly been shut down by the Taliban and replaced with Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice - the name speaks for itself). All of the 16th family members are all currently in exile in Quetta, Pakistan since September of 2024, without a job or home of their own. They have received their Humanitarian Parole Approvals, and require your help in making it a possibility to leave Pakistan (which is not without a high cost). They all qualify for resettlement benefits in the US upon arrival. We will need help with the following costs: Medical Fees for the US Embassy (roughly $4500) Visa Fees ($3680) Pakistani visas $800 per person Exit Pakistan Visas 3 Separate trips (medical appointment trip, visa interview trip, last trip to pick up visas/passports) + Transportation from Quetta, Pakistan to Islamabad, Pakistan (with the help of smugglers/brokers - and their fees). ($2500 Broker's fee per family for an escort + Gas + Broker's car rental - depending on each trip it is a different amount). 3 Separate Stays in Islamabad, Pakistan in a secure Guest House. ($65 a night per family - they will have to stay each time at least 1-3 weeks). Airfare from Pak to the US (depending on the cost when booking - we booked one ticket at $2683 per person for the previous group of 8 individuals which was 3 days before the flight - hence the price range). I thank you for your generosity, trust, kindness, and support of these very deserving families. You are not only helping them now, but you are being part of their stories for generations to come. Your kindness does not go unnoticed - thank you. We will share periodic updates. Due to security and safesty resasons, I will have to hide their faces, but upon arrival I can share their faces. With Gratitude, Yagana
