Hi, my friends! It's Vicki. I've never had to ask for money in my life, but today I have a desperate need for money to care for my family. On July 2, 2024, on the border of unincorporated Arapahoe County and Aurora, CO, both of my daughters and my 3 granddaughters were in an extremely severe single-car rollover accident. Jenny is at risk of losing her right hand, but by the grace of God, yesterday they surgically placed her hand in an abdominal pocket to help save her hand, although it will never be highly functional even if successful. Jenny has many surgeries and a hard road of physical therapy ahead of her. Jenny was cut out of the car with the jaws of life and life-flighted. Jamie is in a drug-induced coma and intubated. She has multiple brain injuries, 9 broken ribs (plated 5), a broken collar bone, fractured T3 & T4 vertebrae, chest tube, pneumonia, and a Staph infection. Tomorrow she will receive a traecheostomy, and later a stomach tube for feeding. Eventually, it is anticipated she will go into long-term acute care and then acute rehabilitation. Both of my daughters have extremely long roads to recovery and multiple surgeries. Jenny has already had 4 and Jamie has had 1. Jenny's 2 girls (10 & 6) had some bruising, but overall are doing well, but we're still watching for emotional side effects. Jamie's daughter (6 mo.) is healing well from what look like burns from the carseat straps rubbing. There is still lots of confusion on where she was at the end of the accident, but so far she is healing well. My grandson (7), Jamie's son, was not in the accident, but for now, he is told his mom is still sleeping and grandma is looking out for her. He doesn't understand, but Jamie has too much going on right now and we don't want to scare him. He does give me big hugs to thank me. So the reason I am asking for financial help is because I have had to take leave from work, partially without pay. Right now I have travel expenses, food, and the need to provide for my loved ones in Colorado. Also, there will be legal expenses, which for now I am working on a conservatorship for Jamie in order to act on her behalf. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I promise to use your money wisely and in the best interest of my family. Also, please forward as appropriate.
