Hello All, Many of you know that my dad Jordan suffered a traumatic brain injury after falling from a lift at work where he lives in Minnesota. It's only been five days since his accident, and Dad is still in serious condition in the ICU at the Mayo Clinic. It will be a very long time before Dad heals up and every day ends with a giant question mark. Heidi (my sister) and I came came to MN to be with our family as soon as we could, but with responsibilities back home in PA, we obviously can't stay here indefinitely. In addition, traveling back and forth from PA to MN brings its own set of challenges. Many of you have reached out to us to ask if there is anything you can do to help right now. And many of you have very kindly contributed to help with all the expensive logistical challenges that traveling to see my dad has brought. We are grateful for every gesture of support that our community in PA and beyond has given. But with transportation, lodging, and food expenses, we're also setting up a LFEBridge to help us mitigate the accumulating travel costs. My dad has brought joy to everyone who knows him. Even just introducing myself as Jordan's daughter (a very Hutterite thing to do) brings laughter and hilarious stories about something that happened 30 years ago. Everyone says their dad is the best dad, but I do think my dad takes the cake. Dad manages to bridge the gap between rigid old Hutterite traditions and faith that is inclusionary and joyful, and he taught me everything I know about making the world a better place. We're thankful for our friends and community in Pennsylvania, and for the support so many of you have given since hearing the worst news a Monday could bring. For people who have asked how to help right now: please know that your meditations and prayers have helped us feel less alone.
