As many of you know, on Sunday 25th June, our family suffered a monumental loss as our beloved Papa was taken from us without warning. Papa "Wadada" Fleary, was the most loving provider. He loved fiercely and has left behind a gaping hole in the hearts of his 13 children, 13 grandchildren and all who had the pleasure of meeting him. We seek solace in the knowledge that Papa achieved his ultimate goal of trading in his hard work in the UK for a more rewarding toil back home in Carriacou. His final years, although taken far too soon, were filled with doing the things he dreamed of and we take a lot of comfort in the fact that he knew just how loved he was. As a family, we intend to give Papa the send-off he desired. A humble celebration, filled with love, joy and reflection. Whilst we as a family rally to settle funeral costs, we must lean on the wider community and all who feel moved to, to consider assisting his children and grandchildren in reaching Carriacou for his Homegoing. Many well-wishers, family members and friends have asked how they can contribute to our family during this difficult time. Collectively, Papa's children are asking for donations to help cover the cost of our travel from England to Carriacou. We need to raise £25k by Sunday 9th July 2024 to be able to actualise our travel plans. Here is a link to the fundraiser for Papa. https://www.LFEBridge.com/f/cf47vs-help-us-reach-papas-homegoing Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time. In the name of transparency, these funds raised will go towards (a handful of) emergency passports, flights for our two mums, all 13 of Papa's children, 13 grandchildren, and overnight stay in Grenada -as is the only possible travel route- transit the following day to Carriacou via boat. Being a small island with no direct routes, we are limited to specific travel routes but are committed to doing this as cost-effectively as possible. If we can reach our goal of £25k, we will extend to a stretch of £30k to cover his Nyabinghi service and catering before graciously capping it. For those of you who didn't know our Papa but would like to read a few more objective words about him, The Grenada Informer had these words to say about him and the tragic circumstances in which he passed. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02TYAba7oGcz86VrAk5zTZko6s13UCfEQ4VqNuLd66RY3dmLBuPYbkMyE6JG4SFZ2Bl&id=100063527382149 Thank you so much for reading and wishing you a blessed day.
