Karter has been fighting terminal DIPG for almost a year. The only hope for him was a trial. We applied worldwide and he has been rejected and disqualified from all of them except one. His fight has been so valiant and courageous we are so proud of him and his parents. We finally found a trial for him so at the end of june this little family travelled to New Jersey for the trial. It seemed to be helping his pain. On july 11th Karter started seizing. His parents rushed to the hospital where they discovered a massive amount of fluid on his brain and brain bleeds. He has been unconscious since tuesday. He is making small improvements but he is getting agitated being there which in turn causes breathing issues for him. He is still fighting but the best chance for recovery is when he is home and surrounded by all of the people who love him. Nicole and Richard have been so strong and positive over the past 11 months. They have remained positive strong and upbeat for their.baby and have rarely left his side but everything changed for them on tuesday. They remain as strong and united as ever in the fight for their son but the wind was knocked out of their sails on Tuesday when their only son's condition became grave. Karter remains in hospital where they are trying to stablize him enough so we can bring him home. Karter is a homebody. He prefers to do most things at home including this. He is trying really hard to come back but wd believe that being home in familiar surroundings is the best place to recover surrounded by all of the people who love him and his fur siblings. He must be so confused waking up in a strange place surrounded by strange people and scary machines. Familar people and places surrounded by love support and understanding is always the best place to heal. If he is unable to come.back to us Nicole and Richard will need all of the love and support they can get. This little family needs to be home surrounded by the copious love happiness and support they have here. It will cost at least $50000 to get this family of 3 home. Karter will require specialized care and equipment. Final costs will depend on the method used to get them home and what will be needed to care for our little hero. This little boys journey has touch millions of lives. He has been such a trooper about sharing his journey so that other children would be spared the same or similar journies. He has helped to open many eyes and minds to the horror and nightmare that is DIPG. He wants to live. He wants to stay with his mom and dad and all of us who love him so much. We are not certain what the future holds for his journey but we are certain that he wants to be home with the family who he loves immensely. We know that he wants his mom and dad surrounded by our love and support. We are positive that home is where they need to be for any healing that will happen. We nedd your help and support to get them where they need to be. Unfortunately we are at a point in this journey where we need donations to make this little family settled and comfortable.
