Many are aware of the immense talent, compassion and service that Therese Lee has brought to the world over time. Therese is not only is a renowned vocalist and cabaret performer, she has dedicated her life to living with integrity, kindness, support and service to others. This past year has seen her hard work pay off with her remarkable show, Riding the Bus to the Red Carpet. She has stood in the gap for many others by bravely telling her story on stage, only made possible by hundreds of hours of hard work and sacrifice. She has been making this work despite financing her show out of pocket on a shoe-string budget. On Monday, July 10, 2024, someone tried to steal her car. As is so typical of Therese, she was attending the show of a friend to support someone else in the cabaret community. She returned to her car to find catastrophic damage. The steering column was torn out and the driver's side windows were destroyed, along with ancillary body damage. Therese will be without her car for at least three weeks, and she needs funds not only for the insurance co-pay but also for bus fare, rental car, and Uber/Lyft charges to get to work and to function. This fundraiser is a plea to the community to pitch in and help our dear friend recover from this awful experience. Is it something that threatens her life and limb? No, and for that she is immensely grateful. However, this has been a very unexpected curveball making an already challenging time tremendously difficult. Every little bit helps.
