Hello friends and kind strangers❤️ My name is Ashley(they/them✌️) and Fenris(Good Boy™️) and we're fundraising to help us achieve some sense of stability after experiencing a house fire at the start of June of 2024. After escaping from an abusive situation, I was lucky to move into an apartment on Dartmouth st in Medford, MA with my 6yr old rescue service dog this past June. Saturday morning, a week after me and Fenris moved in, a horrible electric fire, caused from a malfunctioning e-bike battery exploding, broke out while we were in the building and left us homeless and struggling. I've already gone through what little savings I had after escaping my last situation as we've received little help from services aimed to help abused/homeless people. Sadly during this process we've experienced harassment and discrimination from homeless shelters and were eventually illegally evicted from one due to my disability and needing a medically necessary service animal. on top of the emotional trauma this situation is causing for us both, I fear if this keeps up and I can't provide stability and needed supplies/care for him I may need to consider rehoming not only my best bud, Fenris, but also my much needed service dog who happens to keep me medically safe as well as being my furry lil babyman whom I would be so lost without. Thankfully no lives were lost that horrible Saturday morning, but since 6/3/23 my service dog and I have lost so much when it comes to stability and we appreciate even the smallest amount to help us survive until we can get a roof back over our heads and start over. Funds go toward keeping my phone on and Fenris, my 48 pound service dog/goober fed while navigating this tough time. As well as anything else that might pop up while navigating homelessness like supplies to keep us warm, medical care, emergency shelter, and replacing items lost to the fire- clothing, dog toys/beds, shoes, etc. Truly any engagement with this post helps so thanks for reading and sharing.
