Friends and family of Randy Elmy, Steal The Sky’s drummer Randy Elmy has just been diagnosed with a triple hernia- two inguinal and one umbilical. This is a dangerous and potentially life threatening situation, as any of these hernias could block blood flow to his organs, turn septic and lead to death. He is currently in immense pain from the pressure and needs surgery as soon as possible. Playing drums is Randy’s passion, as well as his primary source of income. Like most working musicians, he does not have health insurance to cover the costs of surgery, and without it he is not allowed to perform. The surgery costs $40,000. The hospital won’t even schedule the surgery until Randy can show he has the funds. Additionally, doctors say his recovery time could be up to 8 weeks for this level of severity. We are hoping that Randy’s friends and family could help by donating towards his much needed surgery.
