NORTH EAST FLOODING Hello my name is Jennifer Sterner. I live in berks county, Pennsylvania. On 7-9-23 our entire our lives were changed, our home was flooded with 2' of water. This natural disaster has washed away the foundation of our home and made it unsafe to live in. The foundation alone was quoted at around 150k. The flood has devastatingly made everything we own and worked so hard for unopperable. 95% of our belongings are gone including the home and all of it appliances. Our family is in immediate need of a suitable place to live. This storm has uprooted 2 adults, 2 kids under age of 9, 2 dogs, a cat and leaves our home without proper attendance to clean up or monitor any thing. We will have to start over completely. There isn't much help at the moment as we wait to hear if fema will be called in. I've been told this will take some time. Until then whenever then arrives, we don't have a place affordable to live. All the bills are still in place, they didnt stop because the home was flooded. Im greatful for my blessings, we've been sleeping in a friends basement on couches yet were not able to live here comfortably. Some form of payment for our stay is still being figured out. If we could ask for support in purchasing a RV to park on our property. This will provide my family with a proper structure and means to be at home as we start rebuilding our lives from the roots up. Funds will go towards: getting a rv for our property Paying bills - electric and phone Cleaning and throwing stuff away Thank you kindly for any help you may provide to reach our goal of getting a more comfortable living arrangement.
