My sister a.k.a my second mother lost the majority of her property on July 9th,2024. A flood flash came through a wiped out her town( Highland Falls, NY). She has lost a lot and I'm heartbroken for her, my nephews and her best friend. She slept in her car overnight and the journey she had to take to make it home to her children due to the numerous closures. Whole roads were ripped out. Cars destroyed and underwater. Watching her belongings just floating in the water. It's a blessing they all survived such a tragedy. They currently have no food,electricity and no gas. My sister and many resident's in the town did not have flood insurance due to it not being a flood zone. Red Cross is only giving our bottle water. The President has yet to deem it a natural disaster therefore FEMA won't help. It will cost thousands and thousands of dollars to repair the entire county and currently there's no help. Aisha is a train Conductor for the MTA and is still unable to make it to work af this time. If you can please help her bounce back. Any and all help will be appreciated. #OrangeCounty
