Hi Everyone, I am fundraising to Bring Recovery, healing, and opportunity to all the brave women and Mothers trying to get back on their feet after escaping abusive situations – Help me create Mother Lands Foundation and Villages! After I learned I was pregnant, I began to see the red flags in my child’s father. If anything like a “Mother Lands” village had been available, I would have walked away and never looked back. Instead, I found myself stuck in an abusive relationship. I desire to create the place that prevents abuse from occurring to begin with. Since we escaped the abuse of my child’s father back in 2017- I have been dealing with some form of abuse at every turn. Whether nonprofit organizations meant to serve “the poor”, government resources, landlords, rental management, shelters, court systems, car living- roommate living-you name it- I have dealt with it. Women have suffered abuse on all levels for FAR too long in our society over many generations and it’s time for it all to begin to come to an END. I realize that there are many organizations and resources in place that offer help after the damage has already been done, but when a person is impoverished physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and financially, this person needs more than just a bed in a homeless shelter or a job to get on her feet. Shelters are band-aids. These women need family: love, care, rest, and an opportunity to heal and REPLENISH! We can’t keep expecting them to give when there is nothing left to give. My mission is to serve women – especially mothers and their children – by creating community that provides stable ground to start fresh, get self-care, offer skills and be surrounded by people who have our backs. I am a struggling single mother trying to raise my extra-needs daughter alone. Many mothers (single or married) are dealing with way more than any one person should ever be expected to handle because of our lack of village. For me, it is a JOB with hard earned rewards because of my daughter’s unusual needs. It’s a job that requires 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on little to no sleep, without pay, no time off or vacation days. The needs of mothers tend to go ignored and we simply cannot grow healthy societies when our life givers are exhausted and struggling. The lack of freedom for the impoverished seems insurmountable. I myself, cannot qualify for a house, not even subsidized housing. I literally have to be homeless and on the streets before I can even get on a HUD waitlist and some of the waitlists around the United States are 10 years long! I know there are many more mothers in the world like myself who cannot qualify for a house, who have solid jobs and cannot pay for a house, who are working 3 jobs and cannot pay for a house, who consciously choose to raise their children from their cars rather than deal with the frustrations of inadequate systems. I want to build THE THING that liberates women and children from abuse once and for all – with other women who know what we need - who have been through it themselves- so women who live in a Mother Lands Village never have to settle for male-dominated, abusive circumstances again. I’ve had enough and it’s time for radical change. Many women like myself are fed up, READY to move forward. We are ready to leave our pasts behind. We need a foundation that builds a network of villages, where we can move beyond survival into thriving. Mother Lands is a huge vision meant to continue building itself long after I am gone. So many of us are thinking about “New Earth” projects and this endeavor begins by first serving the struggling Mother -then it becomes the place that prevents impoverished circumstances-then it becomes the earth we all need over time. We cannot move forward into our future as a healthy, thriving humanity as long as there are struggling, impoverished mothers . Healthy mothers birth and raise healthy children and if half the society is struggling then it affects the well-being of the other half. First step: I am asking for $10,000.00 as seed funds to set up the non-profit organization for Mother Lands Foundation and Villages. Any donation, small or large, will be helpful. Mother Lands is a vision that belongs to us all, it is written on our hearts. My mission is to shepherd her into existence. Please help me birth this much needed Mission into the world by sharing it with as many as possible. 10,000 people giving a dollar will begin a journey that gives back 10 fold to the well-being of all.
