For those of you who don't know Marie, she is an active participant of Blaze - former Intelligent Deviant crew/part-time wayward bartender, and now, Theme Camp Lead of The Drawing Room. A vocal advocate amongst the Blazing Swan membership, Marie also volunteers many hours on the Ranger Operations Team, as Ranger Bubblegum. Marie has been lucky enough to be selected for the 2024 Regional Event Lead Mentorship Program run by the Burning Man Project. Twenty-seven individuals have been paired with Black Rock City staff this year - These mentees are from 11 countries and 18 Regional Events. Marie has been matched with the Black Rock City Rangers, and will have first-hand experience of the behind-the-scenes operations and best practice - including a newly created sexual assault and sexual violence response workflow. She also intends to link up with: - CIT, Burning Man's Crisis Intervention Team, - SAT, Burning Man's Survivor Advocacy Team, as well as trying to find out more information from groups like Bureau of Erotic Discourse (BED) and other leaders in the Consent space. The cost of this opportunity is enormous, and that’s where we come in. I am reaching out to ask if you have the capacity to please gift a donation towards this trip. Some of the anticipated (and approximate) costs include, but are not limited to: Flights = ~$2500+ Transport = ~$700 Burning Man ticket = $990 Vehicle Pass = $230 *plus travel insurance, incidental accommodation, petrol, food, water, tent/other camping supplies, etc. Marie is a generous, compassionate and energetic member of the Blaze Community, and is passionate about the prevention of sexual violence and assault. She has already contributed so much to Blaze in this respect, and wants to bring even more knowledge and experience back for future events. Please help to support Bubblegum if you can - any and all donations would be SO appreciated. Love and hugs, Lady Bug
