***Funds will be managed and dispersed by Lois’ sister Deb which is why it shows this fundraiser is benefitting Deb. Funds will be used to cover expenses for Lois*** Like many folks in Vermont, my Aunt Lois lost her home in Berlin due to the tragic flooding that hit the state in mid July. At first, the flooding did not appear to have as heavily damaged her house as it had her neighbors, but the inspections done by the state revealed too much damage and her home was condemned. Unfortunately, homes in mobile parks have to rely on what little support FEMA provides to help them recover from a loss like this. Compounding her misfortune, the morning after she was told to evacuate, Lois ventured out to check on her home. Sadly, she was caught in a mudslide before getting there and unfortunately totaled her vehicle. Thankfully she did not suffer major injuries in this accident. Adding to this immense loss, Lois was let go from her job in June due to ongoing health issues. Rebounding from these back-to-back losses will be an enormous challenge for her. We are hoping to raise money to support Lois during this difficult time as she looks for a place to live while continuing her search for a new job. We are aware that right now many people are in great need in Vermont so we appreciate any assistance you are able to provide for her during this challenging time. Funds will be managed and dispersed by Lois’ sister Deb. Link to News article about her neighborhood Thank you! More photos of the damage below: Lois’ car (blue truck) in mudslide
