I'm organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Diana S., a lovely senior citizen who has called New Paltz home for the past few decades. She's facing an exorbitant rent increase at the apartment she's lived in for the past 7 years (Village Arms) that leaves her at risk of being displaced from our community altogether. Diana is currently fighting cancer, and at 81 years old I think that her energy should go towards that fight, and she should be able to remain near her friends, and this housing crisis should be the last thing on her mind.
