My name is Kat Baptista. My mother, Lynne Baptista unexpectedly passed on July 19th while vacationing in Arizona. It was very sudden. My father, Skip Baptista is currently in a Memory Care unit in Alexandria, VA, with the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. He did not take the news of his beloved spouse’s passing well whatsoever. I am currently living in Chicago, IL. I am well established out here, and moving back home simply isn’t an option for me at this time. I work in the food service industry, and while I am blessed to have a flexible schedule, I do not make quite enough to afford the ability to travel back and forth from Chicago to Virginia, especially if I have to take time off work when I travel. I am creating this fund for the following reasons: I would like the ability to be there to help advise my Brother through tough decisions through this emotional time I would like to spend as much time with my father and help him process his grief alongside his child (me) I would like to be able to afford airfare while still being able to maintain regular bill payments I would like to be available last minute whenever I am called upon by my family members There are some expenses for things in my mother’s house which I would like to take care of If you don’t feel comfortable with LFEBridge, you can donate to Venmo. Venmo: @katherine-baptista-2 Please write ‘Lynne’ as the memo, so it doesn’t get lost among transactions. Thank you for reading, and if you knew my mother, I would love to see any kind memories in the comments. Any unused funds will go directly toward the expenses for my father’s continued Memory Care Unit Care.
