Hello, This is Lynn and Sarah, and we’ve been best friends with Hannah since Lynn was nine years old, Sarah since 16. Hannah was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age six, and complications from that led to her being diagnosed with stage five kidney disease five years ago. She had been on the waitlist for a kidney and pancreas transplant from the Mayo Clinic since 2024, and was called for transplant on March 28 2024. She received those transplants on March 29. (Very exciting!!) Hannah works with deaf and blind persons to help them obtain employment, and moonlights as a waitress to help make ends meet. She is Aunt to her beloved nephew Paul and close surrogate auntie to Aurora, Juliet, Walter, Kurtis, Azaria and Aubrey. The kids are her world, right after her fur babies Lola and Archie (RIP COCO). Hannah’s appendix burst shortly before Memorial Day weekend 2024, and her kidneys went into failure, putting her on dialysis four times a week and leaving her exhausted and stressed out. Additionally, in October 2024 Hannah’s two year old dog Coco had to be put to sleep after going into heatstroke, leaving her emotionally devastated and in debt with thousands of dollars in vet bills. Hannah loved Coco very deeply, and this loss was very difficult to process. Hannah is so incredibly important to me, my family, her family and everyone whose life she touches. She is hilarious and brings an element of life wherever she goes, and in spite of everything she has been through is fighting hard to continue to be there for her loved ones. She helps people every day, through her job, through her dedication to friendships, her “bonus” nieces and nephews and her family. The funds raised will help Hannah pay for all the transplant expenses not covered by insurance, her insurance bill, expenses when she cannot work at all during her recovery and anything else I missed. (There are a lot of expenses involved with a transplant so I’m sure I missed a few) Thank you, and please consider donating to my amazing friend. Any amount is appreciated deeply, $5 is not too small! And you will have the knowledge that you are helping someone whose entire life revolves around helping other people.
