Hi, I am Zoe's mom, she is my baby girl. For most of her life, I brought her up as a single parent with little support from her father who passed away in 1993. JJ is her son going on age 10. Zoe has had emotional issues since 1995 when her cousin, my nephew, and her best friend, died tragically in her arms at a local pool. She has very deep emotional scars that haunt her to this day. My daughter has now acquired a staph infection in June that started in her brain and has now traveled throughout her bones. It has not gone away and has now traveled to her heart. She now has bacterial endocarditis and needs emergency surgery right away, she is in KY and I am in FL She has now been transported via ambulance from a local emergency room in Owensboro to a more renowned facility in Lexington and a more expert cardiac surgeon. She will have emergency surgery on two of her heart valves and then maybe put in a medically induced coma for several days. We just found out she had a stroke a few weeks ago and had a heart attack yesterday as well.  Zoe (Alexander) has a 10-year-old son and a live-in boyfriend who has been great in helping her through this, but their means are meager. I need to get there asap for moral support and to be by her side throughout this. I am going to Lexington to be there for her. It will be an extended stay. When Jeremy got there two days ago, he dropped to one knee and popped the question!! How very romantic!! There will be enormous expenses ahead. She will be five hours from her home so there will be costs for hotel, food, and a car while there. There will also be unpaid medical bills which can be enormous. The last drug I paid for her cost $1100 for the coinsurance. She is unable to work, and on top of that, they fired her the day she was first admitted to the hospital in June (which sounds discriminatory to me). She has zero income coming in. This is her 2nd admission. She can't contribute to housing, make her car payments, or contribute to the costs to raise her son and out-of-pocket medical expenses. The costs for JJ's school supplies is unreal! We have to find a way to absorb her $450 car payments plus insurance. I created this fundraiser to offset the enormous costs that lie ahead and seem to compile by the hour. She is facing life and death issues and has come so far and overcome so many setbacks. We desperately need your prayers. Unfortunately, we also need financial help. God bless you for your prayers and anything you can give. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
