Hi, my name is Charmaine and I am fundraising for my daughter, Deja. On Tuesday, July 25th at 4:20pm, the apartment directly above Deja’s caught on fire and it quickly spread. The fire completely destroyed the top floor and caused fire damage and flooding to Dejas apartment. Fortunately, Deja was at work at the time and a fire fighter rescued her cat (Chloe). The fire Marshal and complex management deemed the building unsafe to attempt to retrieve any of her items.(https://www.nbc29.com/video/2024/07/26/crews-respond-commonwelth-drive-apartment-fire-10p) She lost everything. Deja’s most immediate need is clothing and shoes, as she only has the clothes she was wearing at the time. She also lost all of her possessions, eye glasses, prescriptions, etc. and furniture- couch, bedroom furniture, computer, dining room set, etc). I am reaching out to ask for monetary donations to get my daughter back on her feet. Any amount is truly appreciated. As most of you know she lives 2 1/2 hours away from her family (Charlottesville, Virginia ). Again, any monetary donations at this time would help Deja in this time of need.
