UPDATE: Sydney was discharged from the hospital earlier today 7/26 & is feeling a lot better. My family is eternally grateful to those of you who prayed for her recovery & to every one who has donated & continues to! Hi, my name is Zoe & I’m fundraising for my family. I live out of state so I’ve been visiting for the month… On Sunday, July 23, my 9 year old sister Sydney had a medical emergency that led to her being life flighted to Loma Linda, Children’s Hospital at 5:45pm. After experiencing what our family thought was the flu, her symptoms quickly worsened, and she was rushed to the hospital at 12:30pm. Things could’ve been disastrous if our mom hadn’t taken her in as soon as she did. The doctors found her to be in ketoacidosis with her blood sugar level at 432 (normal range is 70-150). Her diagnosis is type 1 diabetes and we are hoping to get her out of the PICU and into a regular level of care until she’s able to leave. Our mom, Jennifer is a single mother of seven. She is a self-employed massage therapist. She needs assistance with living expenses while she is out of work caring for Sydney over the next couple of weeks. Our family is asking for assistance, and any donation is very much appreciated. We are grateful for the staff at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, as they have been taking excellent care of her! Thank you to everyone that has given your prayers, thoughts, and donations. We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️
