Hi, my name is Aleisha Tilson and I am fundraising on the behalf of my best friend Elle Wyatt after she was attacked and robbed. On July 31st at approximately 9:35pm Elle was attacked while walking home from her car. The attacker came up behind her, put her in a chokehold, and demanded she give him her keys. Immediately after doing so, he continued to choke her until she was nearly incapacitated. Afraid for her life and what might happen to her body if she lost consciousness, she tried fighting back by punching, kicking, and clawing him until she was able to finally face towards him and push his head up and back by his chin making him lose balance and let go of her. After he was pushed away from her he tried to forcefully grab her again but she was able to push him for the second time and only *then* did he take off stealing her 2010 blue Ford Focus. Elle ran to the closest busy street where a group of people helped her try to get assistance from 911. The police were called four times in the span of two hours and never showed up. After the group of people waited with Elle, a police paddy wagon was flagged down for her to make a report. Once the report was filed she tried to make a claim on her car insurance and they informed her that auto theft was not included in her plan. Elle not only faces physical and mental injuries from the attack but she is now without a car that helped her get to and from work. Because of the horrific incident, she will be moving into a new apartment at the end of September but she won’t be able to break her current lease, therefore having to pay double rent for a month. Her assailant is still at large and has been terrorizing the Logan Square neighborhood with multiple attacks that lead up to hers.
