Many of you know the wonderful Danni Lambertz. She has walked your dogs up to the line for coursing, volunteered to help with your event’s fundraiser, she has stayed late to help clean up after showing or coursing and contributed in many ways to help others when they’ve fallen on hard times. Well horrible news reached Danni this morning (Sunday July 16th) that her home was on fire before 7AM in Roland, Iowa while she was 15 hours away showing in Madison, Ohio. Like many of us, Danni lives alone, supports herself and is passionate about her dog sports, work, friends and family. No dogs were home at the time of the fire, but her beloved cat Monster didn’t survive. Many of you know Danni, personally or have benefited by her tremendous work ethic at this year’s AWC National Specialty where she sent out LITERALLY hundreds of emails to companies to get >$10,000’s worth of merchandise donated for the welcome bags and the raffle. Danni did not ask for this fundraiser, in fact when I asked her permission she said she’d rather not ask for help. I said “that’s ok, but I’m doing it anyway”. Money won’t undo what’s happened. It won’t bring Monster back, but it will show Danni a bit of love that she more than shown all of us. All funds will go towards helping her get back on her feet while trying to rebuild.
