Benjamin Peralta is a 10-year-old boy from a rural town in Argentina. On June 16th, he went on a family trip to the main city of Bueno Aires. This would be his entire family's first time in the city. He arrived in Buenos Aires on Sunday night and on Monday afternoon, just the next day, a serious event happened. Benjamin was crossing the street with his younger brother and his father when he was suddenly hit by a car who ran a red light. Benjamin lost consciousness immediately and was rushed to the hospital. He had suffered a brain hemorrhage. The neurosurgeons performed emergency brain surgery on him which was followed by a 12-day sedation period. No one knew what to expect or what damage Benjamin would sustain after the surgery. 15 days after the surgery he finally opened his eyes and was transferred to a recovery center where he could start the recovery process. It's been two weeks since he arrived at the recovery center. He started from zero. He had to relearn how to do basic activities such as walking, talking, and eating. Though, he has been making excellent progress. The next step for his recovery is a cranial prosthesis. During his initial brain surgery, the surgeons found it too risky to completely reattach his entire cranium, as he had already lost too much blood due to the hemorrhage. So, he is currently missing a part of his skull, which is needed for him to complete the recovery process and aid in complete brain function. The cranial prosthesis would help in many aspects, including neuro and aesthetic. At this moment my brother and his wife are unable to work as they are taking care and supporting Benjamin. This event happened hours away from where they live so they are unable to resume their normal jobs. They want to be there in every aspect for their son and his recovery. That being said, they are not able to afford the cranial prosthesis on their own. Please help me show my Benjamin and brother that they are not alone in this difficult moment. We appreciate any help.
