My name is Vincent James and I am helping to raise funds for my good friend Anthony Newett and family. On Tuesday night, July 18th, Anthony’s wife, Janet called him in a panic as he was coming home from the Supermarket to say there is a fire in the house. Anthony rushed home, and about 3 minutes later, the fire department arrived. Very quickly the garage became engulfed in flames. The Allentown Fire Department did an extraordinary job and thankfully, the fire was extinguished before it spread. When Anthony first pulled up to his house, he rushed into his studio against his better judgment to try and save his instruments. He was successful in keeping most of his instruments unharmed, however, there is significant smoke damage to the house, as well as damage from the firemen having to break into the garage. Most importantly, all family members and animals are safe. Insurance has put Anthony and his family up in hotel rooms for a month, to start… but they are thinking this will be more like a three-month displacement. Janet is the pastor at UCC Greenawalds (United Church of Christ), and Anthony is their music director. The members of UCCG have been wonderful in offering accommodations for Anthony to continue his teaching work. Unfortunately, due to the loss of his studio computer, he is unable to continue much of his “bread and butter” work for various national radio networks until insurance can provide him with the resources to continue that work. Janet’s work is mostly unaffected, but their children have had to alter and reduce their work schedules to watch the dogs at the hotel. In short, it appears that the Newetts will be struggling for a bit, operating with a notable financial deficit for as long as three months. To determine the fundraising goal, Janet and Anthony did some figuring to see what the financial loss will be for the 3-month recovery. Considering all things that will likely not be covered by insurance, we set the initial fundraising goal at $15,000. This will help cover some equipment in the garage for which there are no insurance riders, loss of income not being able to do national radio work and loss of income having to turn away some local studio clients. Anthony & Janet are two of the nicest people I've ever had the good fortune to meet and we're hoping to help them as best we can through this very unfortunate situation. Most of all we're so very grateful that no one was hurt. All funds are deposited directly from LFEBridge to Anthony & Janet's accounts. Thank you in advance for your support and note any amount you can donate is helpful. ~Vincent
