Hi, my name is Kelly and I’m fundraising for my partner and our eldest son. One month after purchasing a new car and opening a new business, my partner was struck by a careless driver while driving down Capital Boulevard in Raleigh, North Carolina with our 15 year old son in the passenger seat. The car overturned on its side and hit the guard rail, before it flipped once more and skated 150 yards or more. The other car was barely damaged, but both Anna and Maddox suffered an abundance of lacerations, bone bruises, soft tissue damage, concussions, and had to have glass removed from their bodies in various places. We are very grateful that they are okay, as this could have been much worse. Because of the amount of pain that Anna is in, it is very difficult for her to do her job until she is fully healed. She is a local barber and musician. Currently, she cannot use her hands and arms well. Anna hopes to be able to return to work ASAP but the financial setback will definitely hurt us in trying to put money down on a new car to replace the previous car. We have just learned that the other driver is uninsured. Our insurance is not helping us with a rental car at this time. Maddox and Anna have both suffered a traumatic event, and will begin PTSD therapies tomorrow, which is another outstanding copay that was unexpected. If you feel called or compelled in any way to contribute to our family in digging us out of this awful situation, it would be greatly appreciated. We are very very, very lucky. We simply want to be able to be OK again and it may take a little help.
