Hi, my name is David Freece and I have a friend named James "Bruce" Johstono who is a Vietnam Vet going through some tough times. We both live in the West Palm Beach area of Florida. Bruce is a friend I see almost every day. So after not seeing or hearing from him for several days, I stopped by to do a welfare check. He wasn't home, but his door was open. During the "Wellfare Check" I discovered his unlivable living conditions. No electricity, no water, hoarding-type conditions and filth beyond explanation. This was disturbing, to say the least. Unfortunately during the wellfare check a neighbor told me Bruce had a heart attack. I eventually found him at the VA hospital in Miami where he was about to go into an open heart surgery. They say things happen for a reason. I believe I was put in this situation to find and help Bruce. I have to help him. It's the right thing to do. So, since I have been in the construction distribution for 30 years, I feel I can help this Veteran. The bad news is the house is in need of a TOTAL renovation. Everything must go. Down to the block walls. The good news is the place is a 2 bedrooms 1 bath house. 700/sf. Very small. Everything is needed including drywall, insulation, flooring, wiring, lighting, appliances, cabinets, furniture, plumbing, paint, bathroom, landscaping and all the rest. Looking for help. Materials and or labor. Luckily, I have some construction friends and other friends that I am sure will help, but whatever cash anybody can contribute will be appreciated. So please donate today. Every little bit helps. This will get done because whatever we come up short I will personally pay. Bruce is doing well and in rehab getting his strength back. He will be getting out soon and has no place to live if his house is not fixed. Crunch time! Thanks! House is located in Lantana Florida built 1959.
