Wednesday night I almost lost my best friend of 22 years. We'd just gotten off the phone after she told me that she was going to finish filling out a job application and heading to bed. One minute we were saying good night and the next I received a text with a picture of her entire apartment in flames. I stayed on the phone with her while I drove to her place as she watched all of her belongings burn for hours. This is her third time starting over from scratch in the last year. One year ago she fled in the night from an abusive marriage with nothing but her daughter and the clothes on their backs. She eventually got her own place and it burned as well. The same complex relocated her to a new unit and now it's nothing but ash (yes, this complex seems sketchy). She is now staying with my family and I in a spare bedroom that we want to prepare for her and her daughter, but it isn't furnished. I'm asking on her behalf for anything that you could offer to her and her daughter. She will have to start over yet again, but I'm hoping that this time it's with more support. Please help in any way that you can. All of the proceeds will be going to her and her daughter. Her testimony of survival is in the interview below.  https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/woman-critically-burned-meadlowglen-dekalb-county-apartment-fire.amp
