Hello family, friends, and community. As many of you know, I’m passionate about nature, Vermont, construction, and all things Justice! My company, HELM Construction Solutions annually gives out thousands of dollars worth of no and low-cost business consulting, coaching, and training to high-performance (green) construction and design firms led by people of color, immigrants, women, and queer and trans folks across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to raising $ for our HELM Solidarity Scholarship , I am also raising critical funds for flood relief and clean-up in Barre, Vermont - one of the harder-hit and less-resourced communities recently impacted by the catastrophic floods in Vermont. The Rainbow Bridge Community Center has been holding down a lot of the grassroots organizing and mutual aid in this community, meeting the direct needs of residents often overlooked by some of the larger non-profits. Sadly, the heavy rains and flooding have also impacted Vermont’s Long Trail, which I was planning to thru-hike for my sabbatical this year :(. As a result, I’ve postponed my 273-mile hike until next year, but will still be spending 7 days backpacking in the white mountains where the trails were not impacted. Will you consider donating on my behalf and helping me stay motivated along the trail?? Any amount will be appreciated. I’ll split all funds evenly between the HELM Solidarity Scholarship and Barre Flood Relief via the Rainbow Bridge Community Center. I will keep this Go Fund Me running through the end of September but my hike starts on August 23rd. I so appreciate your support! Let's do this! Mel Baiser
