East Cramlington Colliery Rows still have a feel of the mining village it once was. Residents do tend to pull together. Lockdown saw us clearing rubbish from adjacent woodland and discussing aspirations for a community space so that we could produce our own food. We formally constituted a community group on September 12th 2024 to pursue this. We want to • Demonstrate sustainable food production • Improve problems of social isolation • Promote exercise • Promote healthy eating • Reduce dependency on food banks We have been told we will need to apply for planning permission for change of use of a strip of the playing field to agricultural use. Please help us raise the £500 this will cost. Thank you.
