Hi, My name is Susanna and I am raising money for our beloved Maudlyn (76) and her husband, Ertley (84). They just lost their apartment and everything they owned in a terrible fire early this morning in Bridgeport, CT. God is so great that he sent an angel to wake them up at 4:15AM so they were able to get out of the windows. Ertley has cancer and is very sick unable to get around well anymore. Maudlyn is his full-time caretaker and has been struggling mightily under the burden even before the fire with very few resources since she can no longer work. Maudlyn is the most gentle kind loving soul you have ever met. She would do anything for anyone in need. She always shows up and she always believes the best in people. She is nothing short of a miracle herself. She had a terrible childhood in Jamaica and came to the US 20+ years ago and started her new life. She has kept her belief in people and her amazing kindness despite all of her hardships. She is the hardest worker I've ever known who takes deep pride in what she has been able to build. She bought her apartment and managed to keep it through the very trying covid years. For her to lose everything now is beyond devastating. She is not able to start over at her age, not to mention all the troubles she is still carrying for her family. She and Ertley need immediate support and help to get back on their feet finding a place to stay, buying clothes, and basic necessities. They need some kind of security knowing they have a roof over their heads and enough to pay their bills for the near to mid-future. Maudlyn trusts deeply in God and knows that he always provides. I believe that we are God's hands on this earth. I ask you to share what you can, even a small donation helps. And please please keep Maudlyn and Ertley in your prayers.
