Hello! I am Gavin Unkel’s Aunt and asking for anyone that can help him during his time of need!!! July 4th, 2024 Gavin fell off the roof of his apartment building in Colorado ( 15 ft) onto some large rocks. He was unconscious initially, but regained consciousness before EMS arrived. They transported him to the hospital with a significant laceration on his head, pneumothorax, fractured 9th rib, significant spinal injury to T7 T8 T9 vertebrae. He had surgery yesterday to fuse between T5 and T11 with screws and rods placed. Multiple staples in his head due to significant laceration The pneumothorax healing well The surgery was a success!!! Gavin is doing as well as expected, but has a long road of recovery!!! Gavin is only 19 years old, not the greatest insurance and still has living expenses to cover; clearly unable to work at this time due to injuries/recovery. Gavin has been successfully doing his own thing since he graduated high school on his own in Colorado and this is a huge set back for him!!
