Our mom, Laurie Johnson, has lived in her Lower Sackville home for more than 35 years. The recent flash flooding in the area has completely destroyed the lower level of her home as well as her yard, which will now require a major cleanup and renovation. Years of memories and thousands of dollars worth of personal possessions were destroyed by the sudden flooding on July 21st. As the sole resident of her home, the expenses are already racking up for this busy grandmother. The flooding in her basement reached the ceiling and everything inside has been completely destroyed. With no funding or financial assistance available from the Nova Scotia government, and no flood insurance, Laurie will have to pay out-of-pocket for a dumpster rental ($850+) and all other associated cleanup and renovation costs. Laurie has been serving the Lower Sackville community at Kaiser’s Subs for decades, making sure our bellies are full and happy. Let’s work together to ensure that she comes out of this crisis unscathed, and safely housed in her precious family home. Any donations are greatly appreciated. If you aren't able to help financially, please reach out if you’re able to donate time. Thank you in advance for your generous support! Much Love, The Johnson Family
