On Saturday, 7/8/23 my sister, Amanda, brother-in-law, Eric, and their kids experienced a devastating house fire. Fortunately, no one was at home. The house is uninhabitable, and they have lost everything, but we still have each other, which is the most important thing! My sister has worked tirelessly, and selflessly, to house the homeless across southeast Louisiana and is now experiencing firsthand what she has fought so hard to solve. This was their home for the last five years– the only one their 7-year-old son remembers them living in. My niece graduated from Cabrini in May and is so excited to begin her college career at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in August. She had stockpiled everything she needed for her dorm and living on her own and lost it all. I have set up this LFEBridge to help get them started. Because where do you start when you have nothing? We are grateful to have our family safe and appreciate all the support through this tough time.
