Hi, my name is Janette and I am trying to help raise funds to help my sister Sherrie Geske and her family. On Wednesday, July 12, 2024, their home caught on fire and burned completely to the ground due to a faulty oven. Thankfully no one was hurt and all that lived there are safe. They lost everything. They did not have homeowners insurance so they will have to start over completely without the help from insurance. The fire was so hot that it also caused damage to the front of one of their vehicles. Funds will be used to help them get back up on their feet. They will be needing a new home, vehicle, clothes, shoes, furniture, appliances... just everything. My almost 13-year-old niece also lived there with them and all of her things are gone as well. Everyone who knows this family knows they would help out in a heartbeat if someone they knew were in this same situation. So if anyone can help out in any way please do so. UPDATE 7/16/2024: Today they started to clear out where the house was. While they were clearing they saw that the septic tank is also damaged from the fire. This is going to set them back from being able to get permits to get power turned on at the home next door (David's parent's home, where they are temporarily staying using generators to get by). They have worked very hard to get the home ready for Demco to come out and approve permits to get electricity back on, this home had also received some damage from the fire, but they were told if they could block off that portion and do some rewiring they could get the electricity turned back on. So now with the septic tank not in working condition they will most likely not get these permits.
