My parents, Edd and Lynda Farabee have suffered a catastrophic house fire. Their home of over 51 years has been destroyed. Unfortunately, their home was too old to be insurable. Edd's pickup was under the carport and was left in ashes, with everything burnt down to the rims and frame. The front portion of Lynda's car melted from the intense heat. Thankfully, their granddaughter had just gotten back from church camp and was spending the night with them. She heard the startling fire noise after nightfall. Everyone was able to escape from the burning house along with their dogs. She got emergency services to get help on the way to this rural location. We are so thankful for Jan and Ted Currington praying with her over the phone and helping her to stay calm. God worked many miracles that night! Nearby caring neighbors came to help in any way possible. We will be eternally thankful for Randy Mulkey's quick thinking actions and assistance as well as the firemen, EMS paramedics and law enforcement. Temporary shelter arrangements have been made. A huge thank you to all the family friends who have come by to help and check on them. All contents of the home are ruined due to the fire and smoke damage. Thankfully, the family memories will last forever! Many cowboys and their families have fond memories of learning horsemanship skills and roping out at Edd's during his younger years. Lynda has worked tirelessly over the last several years to advance the South Plains Patriots Pro America initiatives. Many years ago, she taught school in Levelland. Decades have flown by as they rejoiced in each day the Lord has made. They are both now 80+ years young. Edd has enjoyed his lifetime passion of helping folks of all ages by training their horses and passing on cowboy skills of riding, roping, and other traditions that will live on for generations to come. Edd's hope has always been that the cowboy way and core values would carry on, not ever becoming extinct. Edd and Lynda are strong in their faith. They are old fashioned unpretentious country folks. We have received numerous inquiries about a Go Fund Me page for them. We decided God might be trying to get us to take a step in that direction. Prayers are very much appreciated and greatly needed! Please consider helping them with an act of kindness in their struggling time of great need. Thank you so much and God Bless you all!!
