UPDATE! I did work out a deal and get the van !! It needs a bit more repair than I anticipated it needs new brake pads and rotors on all four wheels so abkut $600. It needs a new starter so abkout $300 for that and then there is an electrical issue that triggers the lights on the dash to go off so it’s been isolated to the steering wheel/column somewhere . Also the mechanic saw an old crack in the radiator that was apparently sealed so he said it’s not a huge worry at this time . I did regular maintenance already with an oil change and fluids etc… But no car note! Praying for all this to be able to be done ! I have been upside down in a vehicle alone for the last 18 months. I bought a Kia Sportage for about $10,000 a year and a half ago and 18 months later I am still paying the interest. This was a 36 month loan and I still haven’t even touched the principal. GEM financial informed me yesterday that I haven’t even touched the interest. I have requested an account transcript and everything from them and they still have not provided me with it. I fell behind on my payment in June. I’ve been paying $125 a week and the repossessed my car today even after making arrangements with me yesterday. This happened while I was at church at my children’s vacation Bible school nonetheless. At this point I think it’s better if I can just buy a car cash out right. Both of my children go to occupational therapy every week and my son goes to Speech and Physical Therapy along with Behavior Therapy Counseling, and numerous other doctors appointments throughout the month. I work two jobs plus I DoorDash. Most days it seems like I’m never gonna get ahead. I have found a minivan that will work wonderfully for my family. It is $2800 and it is a very nice minivan. My son was diagnosed with CHD8 overgrowth syndrome, which is a juvenile form of gigantism so we probably need to get a bigger vehicle anyways, considering he’s almost 5 foot three and he just turned 11 in April. I am fighting to keep our house and everything paid. The father and I have a child support order that was entered through our parenting plan, but it is a private order so for me to get it changed, I have to come up with more money out of pocket to take him to court , as well as to enforce it. Any help would be amazing and very greatly appreciated. Not having a car payment. Will save me obviously a bunch of money every month. Plus it will lower my insurance as well. I don’t know what is going to happen with me and my family but I do know either way we’re going to need a different vehicle.
