Hello Friends and Family, For those that do not know me or have not met me, my name is Meaghan Haulk. I have been a Viking combat reenactor for seven years and most of my life revolves around that or my son. I find myself at a breaking point, unable to do it myself any longer. I am in desperate need of your help. For the past 1 year, 3 months, and 24 days, I have been battling with a cervical injury in the neck part of my spine that has taken a toll on every aspect of my life. Since losing my job in January, I've been drowning in debt, trying to manage the debilitating symptoms. I've exhausted every possible resource, seeking aid from every avenue available, but the doors have either been shut in my face or are still pending appeal. My situation has become dire, resorting to unhealthy options from food pantries for basic sustenance and selling off my most cherished possessions just to make ends meet. My car is on its last legs, and the looming threat of losing my home in 5 days is haunting my every thought and interaction. Today, I received another gut-wrenching blow; my medical insurance has ceased to cover the essential imaging, medication, and therapies I desperately require for basic function. The pain and anti-inflammatory prescriptions I rely on are now taking a toll on my health, leaving me feeling even more sick. I have fought relentlessly to keep my problems in check, as you may have seen in the gym clips and photos I have shared. However, this ceaseless pain has become an ever-present burden. Even rest and staying out of training results in tighter muscles, intensifying the pain, inflammation, and ultimately leading to intermittent paralysis of my left arm. The cruel irony is that I can barely work as the repetitive motions or immobility required by most jobs only serve to break me down further. I am reaching out to all of you with a plea for assistance. I need to undergo a series of expensive imaging and testing to allow my doctors to understand why I am not responding to treatment. Your support in covering the cost of these crucial medical procedures would mean the world to me and would pave the way for my recovery, allowing me to return to a semblance of a normal life. I know times are really tough but if you can spare anything to help me reach this goal, I will be eternally grateful.
