On July 22, 2024 a structure fire started in the afternoon at my parents' home in Palmer, Alaska. They were both not home and are safe. Miraculously their Husky, Zeus, who was on the porch was able to run to safety. Tragically, the fire not only destroyed their entire home and belongings inside, but also took 4 of their beloved pets-3 dogs (Dutchess, Sitka, and Briar) and a cat (Blu) that were inside the home. Also destroyed was a shed that contained all their food storage, animal feed and tack supplies, a car parked next to the home and a utility trailer filled with food storage. They built their home only 2 years ago and are grieving the loss of their dear family pets and cherised family herilooms. They are beyond grateful for the generosity and kindness they have received from family, friends and strangers during this difficult time. In the coming weeks and months they will start the process of removal of the destroyed structures and preparing the land to rebuild their home. Insurance will not cover all the costs associated with the rebuild and I, along with my family would be so very grateful for donations in any amount to help them to rebuild their lives at this time.
