Hi brother's and sister's my name is Verlinda McGrath. I am making this LFEBridge to help me in my emergency situation due to social security withholding my entire check. I am a widow who receives monthly survivors benefits from my late husband that passed away from cancer. Every month I receive $1,400 through social security from the survivor benefits and the entire amount goes towards my rent. I currently work for 7-11 part time to pay for my utilities , car note, insurance and $175 towards my rent because my rent is $1,565 total. The situation is that I and am not allowed to work over 32hours a week to qualify for my benefits. Last year in 2024 I went over the 32 hours by 1 hour which was an error made by my boss. This mistake now cost me to get my entire check for July 2024 taken away by social security without any warning. That check is supposed to go towards my rent for August 2024. Social Security did this to me without any warning. I was getting the runaround this entire month from social security about where my check went and then finally yesterday I was told that they won't be giving me my entire check for July. So now I am not going to be able to pay my rent due to this entire situation. I was led by the Lord to make a LFEBridge to see if I can get help from my fellow siblings in Christ. The family/blood relatives that I do have are all on set incomes, so I am pretty much on my own and have no one else to turn to.
