Dear family & community, Em Dorman here, close friend to Towers Smythe(they/them).Towers possesses a genuinely kind heart and an incredibly down-to-earth nature. Towers has encountered numerous difficulties that have disrupted and uprooted their life and access to stability, prompting us to seek your support.7 months ago, Towers moved to Canada in order to escape the constant traumas they were experiencing while living in the united states, in hopes that Canada would offer a safer, cheaper, and more stable living environment. Unfortunately, the process to obtain a work permit or even a job in Canada has been a lot harder to obtain than expected. At this point, they are completely out of money and unable to find work unless they move back to the states—a place that is incredibly unsafe for them at this time. The caveat is that in order to work in the states-they must live there and they do not have money to pay rent at this time and living with family is not an option as their family is a large contributor to their intense trauma and chronic relapses into active addiction. Their family is not supportive of their daily fight through mental illness and addiction, adding layers of complexity to their path towards stability and safety. Towers is currently trying to get sober again after a PTSD fueled relapse into active addiction; process years of sexual assault, violence, and abuse in trauma therapy; be able to afford their bipolar and OCD medication; be able to afford to see a doctor so they can get a heart monitor and work out their chronic fainting spells. But, unfortunately, all of these things require money and support. Despite all of the pain, Towers has remained steadfast in their pursuit of happiness and inner peace, consistently spreading love! With the communities support, Towers can excel in finding a sustainable and stable life. With our close-knit community, we refuse to let Towers face this journey alone. We have initiated this LFEBridge campaign, with the aim of rallying support and providing Towers with the necessary resources to regain stability and rebuild their life. Our primary goal is to raise $4000 to assist Towers in their quest to find safe and secure housing, access essential healthcare services, and cover basic living expenses. With these funds, we aspire to offer Towers a fresh start--a sanctuary where they can heal, grow, and pursue their dreams without the burden of fear or insecurity.Thank you all for your support. All proceeds will go directly to Towers.
