My name is Amanda, and we are some of the latest victims of the "Kia Challenge." On Saturday July 1st, we were about to move into our new place when we walked out to find that our 2017 Kia Rio was stolen. LMPD found the car within 36 hours of it being reported, but by that point the car had been destroyed beyond being salvageable. We had just put all of our money into this move, but with both of us working it WOULD have been okay. Now I am unable to work at all (I used my car to work), and being short all income from me at a crucial time has put us in a very bad situation. Along with this disaster, the car being stolen had come at worst timing possible on insurance. Our rates had just gone up a LOT due to Kias now being considered "high risk," and multiple companies had refused to even give us a quote because they will not cover many Kia models right now...we had temporarily dropped our coverage down to liability only to try to free up a little extra money for the move. I desperately need to get back to work as soon as possible, and cannot wait weeks to be able to do so. We have contacted multiple dealerships and have come up with a total that would just cover the required down payment/fees for me to be able to drive off the lot from we've been told. Any help towards that goal of getting me back to work would be appreciated, thank you all.
