Hi, I'm Susan and I'm creating this LFEBridge to help my sister, Caitlin, and my sister-in-law, Deanna. They closed on their first home, in Washington, NJ, this past January, just after getting married in October of last year. These last couple of months have been spent renovating the house, making it into their little forever home. Last weekend, on July 15th-16th, a storm swept through the area and caused catastrophic flood damage to their home and property. A once small canal was divided into two larger canals, which caused them to lose a large portion of their yard. The property is not located in a flood zone, so they do not have a flood insurance policy. Their homeowner's insurance is only offering $5,000 toward the cost of damages, but as you can imagine, it is nowhere near enough. There is structural damage to the house itself and the two driveway bridge entrances onto the property. The basement was flooded, and it now requires mold remediation. They are still waiting to find out the status of the mechanical and electrical systems, as well as anything else that hasn't been brought to their immediate attention. Caitlin and Deanna have invested everything they have into their home and because of these unforeseen circumstances, they need as much assistance as they can get to move forward and rebuild.
