Hello! This GoFund Me Fundraiser is being set up on behalf of my very good friend who is an incredible Foster Mom. Two years ago - she had a little Foster girl, we will refer to as Ella, placed in her home for a full year. Ella's parents worked their programs and services...and Ella was eventually placed back in care of her parents. Fast forward to about a week ago, my Foster Mom friend received a desperate phone call from Ella's parents. They had to find a safe place for Ella, while under a CPS investigation and looking to secure housing. Because it is an investigation, and not a Foster placement - my Foster Mom friend cannot receive regular Foster benefits such as daycare reimbursement while Ella stays with her. My Foster Mom friend is a hard working, single woman with a heart of gold. She always puts others first and runs toward a crisis to lend a helping hand if she can. This fundraiser is to ask for small donations to raise money just to cover daycare expenses for 8 weeks, so that my friend can continue to work and take good care of Ella while the investigation is open and being resolved (can take up to 60 days). Ella needs to start daycare the week of August 7, 2024 - so there is some urgency in early donations to get her started. Fortunately, the daycare Ella attended when she was previously living with my Foster Mom friend has availability. Costs are $236 per week. It really does take a village or a community to help care for these kiddos. Our System is far from perfect and many of them fall through the cracks. Here is a chance you can really make a difference for one of them, a real need in our own backyard. I know I spend money on super insignificant stuff all the time - would you be able to help with just $10 or $20 donation to come to the aid of a little girl and reduce some of the financial burden for a Wonder Woman of a Foster Mom? I can personally vouch for both my Foster Mom friend and for Ella's evolving story. Heartfelt and oodles of appreciation for anyone who has the means or inspiration to donate.
