The Daffodil Club has run in Easterhouse for the past 30 years- a place for elderly people who are socially isolated, suffer from loneliness and long term health conditions, to meet daily, have breakfast and lunch, play games, exercise and most importantly for them- to socialise! (not to mention gardening, haircuts, help with paperwork, chiropodist appointments, doctor and hospital visits and being support at these appointments when needed) With serious cuts to funding for services for older people- the Daffodil Club is now in its last few months of funding and faces potential closure as soon as December 2024. Our biggest concern is that, a December closure will be particularly hard for the 80 men and women who rely on this service daily. At a time when it’s most important for them to attend a warm, welcoming and friendly place, they will suddenly be stuck at home, isolated! We've created this Go Fund Me page to try to raise 4 months worth of running costs for The Daffodil Club, keeping this vital service running over the winter. This will also allow us extra time to fundraise towards the longer term future of the club! £10 would buy breakfast for 1 client for 1 week. £15 would buy lunch for 1 client for 1 week. £40 would pay for an exercise class for 40 clients We are aware that this is a huge amount to try to raise- but hopefully with the power of social media we can do it! Any donations made would make a huge difference- if you are unable to make a donation then you can support us by sharing this link on social media! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and support us!
